We are all aware of how much our dogs love being around us so when we do have to leave them for an extended period of time we feel guilty. Here are a few things you can do to relieve the stress and boredom which your dog might be feeling.
Turn on the TV to make your dog feel like they are not alone. Perhaps even put on a nature channel.
Fill a toy with peanut butter and freeze it.
Leave a chew toy behind as it can calm an anxious dog.
Leave other toys behind with treats enclosed. They can provi
de hours of entertainment for your dog.
Hide treats around your house and garden, your dog will enjoy sniffing them out.
Hire a dog walker.
Take your dog to doggy daycare as it's a great way for your dog to socialise with other dogs, exercise and have fun.
Introduce a new toy to your dog (dogs do get bored of the same toys).
Perhaps install a camera for your own piece of mind to keep check on how your dog is coping in your absence. Above all enjoy all that extra love and attention from your dog when you return home.
